I live in a small community of Garson, Ontario, Canada; which is located about 400km north of Toronto, Ontario. The local area is internationally known as the nickel capital of the world.
They are made out of pine wood as a prototype and then from cherry or oak. It has required a lot of experimenting to make one of these cameras work and fold properly. Another aspect of the camera that provided quite a challange was making the bellows. I could not find any books on the subject; so there were many trial runs using bristol board and craft paper.
These cameras are classified as field cameras, that is to say they will fold into a more compact box shape for travelling. This is a relative statement since the tripod, camera and associated equipment weighs in at about 30kg. There are some examples of DIY equipment on the following pages
Listed below are the projects that I have plans for, each set of plans is $US10 each for North America and $US15 each for other areas.

I'm also interested in the Palm pda (IIIxe). With the use of Ronald H. Nicholson Jr. most useful program "Cbaspad pro". I have a collection of photographic formulas. The formulas are written in plain text in memopad. Hotpaw finds these memos and by inputing the required variables the functions are evaluated and the results reflected on the screen.
Photographic formulas: Angle of View, bellows correction, bellows factor, copy (lens-film), copy (lens-subject), depth of field, diagonal dimension, focus range, hyperfocal distance, lens required, long exposures, magnification, pinhole angles (curved film plane).
If you are interested in or have any other formulas(shop, aquarium, conversions etc), drop me a line.
