Targeted Wage Subsidy

Objective :

To place individuals in long term employment by providing direct work experience. A wage subsidy is offered to employers to encourage them to hire individuals.

Client Eligibility :

The following people are eligible for Targeted Wage Subsidy:

  • Those that have identified an occupational goal.
  • Those who have established an eligible claim for Employment Insurance Benefits.
  • Those who established an eligible claim for Insurance Benefits in a period that ended no more than three years before they asked for assistance.
  • And individuals re-entering the work force after a maternity or parental claim that began no more than five years before they asked for assistance.

Employers :

  • Must contact HRDC for information and application prior to hiring.
  • Length of Contract-Length and Wage Subsidy amounts are negotiated with the Employer.
