Jurisdiction on matters related to labour is divided between the federal and provincial government. Most undertakings and employees fall under provincial labour legislation (some of the categories covered by federal legislation are interprovincial railways and highway transport, telephone, telegraph, and cable systems, radio and television broadcasting, air transport and banks).

The Ontario Ministry of Labour
This site includes information on the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety, Labour Management Services, and other Ministry programs.

The Ontario Workers Compensation Board (WCB)
WCB's site includes the WCB Act, claims and appeals information, and information for employers, workers, and communities.

  • Canadian Workplace Research Network (CWRN)
  • The CWRN aims to : foster research in workplace change and innovation; promote linkages and exchanges between researchers, practitioners and policy-makers in industry, labour and government; support the diffusion of research that will foster the adoption of efficient and equitable workplace practices.
  • Collective Reflection on the Changing Workplace
    This Site provides users with an opportunity to share their experiences, express their views and openly discuss all questions related to the changing workplace.
  • Workplace Innovations
    This site disseminates information on innovative workplace practices, and allows the user to share and exchange work related information, practices and interests.

  • The Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
    JAN is an international toll-free consulting service that provides information about job accommodations and the employability of people with functional limitations. The mission of JAN is to assist in the hiring, retraining, retention or advancement of persons with disabilities by providing accommodation information.
  • National Institute of Disability Management and Research
    The Institute is committed to reducing the human, social and economic cost of disability to workers, employers and society through education, training and research. Its focus is on workplace-based reintegration.
