1. Who uses Swift-Type?

Physicians, therapists, mental health professionals, business people, students, authors or anyone who requires freelance clerical services.


  1. How do I contact Swift-Type Clerical Services?

You can contact Swift-Type by telephone or e-mail.  Kim or Sherry will contact you to make arrangements for pickup.


  1. What is the process for dictation?

If you are dictating onto mini-cassette and are in the Sudbury/Valley East area, call us and we will arrange for pick up.  If you are out of our area, you are welcome to send cassettes by courier.


Handwritten manuscripts can be sent to Swift-Type by mail.  Please contact us prior to sending your documents.


Once Swift-Type has received your documents, it will be transcribed and returned to you promptly.


  1. How long does it take before I receive my documents?

Total turn-around-time will depend on several factors, including the length and quality of dictation.  Sixty minutes of dictation takes approx. six hours to transcribe and proofread.  Swift-Type will work with you to meet your individual needs.


  1. Does Swift-Type leave blanks in a finished document?

Occasionally, yes.  Rather than attempt a guess at what you may be saying if something on the dictation is unclear, a blank will be left in the finished document.  You will be informed and can easily fill in the missing word before it is printed.  However, if your dictation has excessive mumbling or slurring of speech, an additional 10% will be added to the fee.


  1. What about confidentiality? Is Swift-Type secure?

We are bonded and all documents are kept in the strictest of confidence.


  1. How is billing handled?

Upon completion of the job, you will be invoiced.  Payment is due upon receipt of bill. Overdue payments will be subject to interest charges.
